The information a factory needs for an accurate custom cable quotation

Turn a vague request into an engineering-ready RFQ.

Application information

Explain the connected devices, use environment, target market, expected service life and whether the cable is a replacement, accessory or part of a larger assembly.

Electrical and data requirements

Provide voltage, current, power, data protocol, shielding, impedance or signal requirements. If unknown, identify the equipment so engineering can ask the right questions.

Mechanical and appearance requirements

State connectors, length, cable diameter, flexibility, jacket material, housing limits, color, logo and packaging. Drawings or reference samples dramatically improve quotation accuracy.

Commercial information

Estimated quantity, sample requirement, target timing, delivery market and expected certifications influence tooling, material selection and test cost.

Minimum useful RFQ

  • Application and connected devices
  • Connector combination
  • Power or signal requirement
  • Length and quantity
  • Drawing, photo or reference sample if available
